Along the impressive Rhine gorge, the road leads towards Valendas, passing historic villages and lush meadows. The curves wind towards Brün and consequently, an adventurous forest path leads to the Maiensäss jewel 'Gadastättli' with a stable, which resides in the forest clearing. Initially, the spacious stable with shelter welcomes you, which is ideal for wood storage, for example. This offers space for creativity in the upper part, such as an atelier, a workshop, or simply storage. The interior is rudimentarily divided into 4 rooms. There is additional space under the stable. The Maiensäss 'Gadastättli' is right next door and was built in 1781. Since then, it has been continuously cared for with much love and has been well maintained. The sun terrace, which was laid out in front of the house, invites you to linger and slow down. Next to it, the entrance welcomes you with a small wardrobe, and the simple kitchen is adjacent. Conveniently, the chemical toilet is in a separate room and is also accessible from the house. The kitchenette is equipped with a gas refrigerator, gas stove, and a wood stove (extraction not connected), where hearty mountain meals can be created. The rustic living space allows for a cozy atmosphere at the table with a corner bench, bringing back the feeling of coziness with family and friends. You can let your gaze wander into the greenery and turn everyday life into a vacation. The room also provides enough space for two beds for a restful sleep. The cast iron stove with its robust construction and durability not only warms the living space but spreads warmth throughout the entire house. With the roof renovation, the attic was also expanded and can be used as a mass strike or retreat in the cozy roof slope. The attic is reached via a sturdy wooden staircase. The view of the forest, meadows, and mountain world can be enjoyed from the whole house. A spring on the property supplies the Maiensäss with water - however, this is not always active depending on the weather. Other water sources are located not far from the house. The 'Gadastättli' is surrounded by approximately 1000m2 of lush meadows, forest, and idyllic tranquility. There are seating options on wooden benches as well as an open grill area, which completes the rustic cozy offer of the 'Gadastättli'. The Safiental - known as a unique nature and cultural landscape. Valendas is one of the villages in the municipality of Safiental in the Surselva region and is located on the right bank of the Rhine. It extends between 635 m above sea level to 2605 m above sea level and is home to a total of 300 inhabitants. On the way towards Brün, the forest road branches off and leads along a forest path, through the dense forests directly to the Maiensäss with stable, which is located in a clearing surrounded by lush meadows, gentian, a variety of herbs, forest, and a fantastic mountain panorama facing the sun. In the surroundings, the idyllic hamlets of Carrera, Brün, Dutjen, and Turisch enchant this special spot in the Surselva and captivate everyone with their own charm. Hikes through the mountain forests, alpine pastures to the refreshing alpine lakes can be discovered, as well as the Rhine gorge, which impresses with its spectacular rock formations. In addition, the Rhine as the 'Swiss Grand Canyon' attracts canoeists from all over Europe to live out their passion in the most beautiful and famous gorge in Switzerland, between Ilanz and Reichenau.
