Les Follatères - www.fullytourisme.ch
The Les Follatères nature reserve offers a grandiose landscape that forms the bend of the Rhône.
Les Follatères nature reserve
The area is under the influence of the continental and lematic climates and is a true paradise of nature. It is rich in rare and diverse animal and plant species and is visited annually by many hikers, scientists and students.
About 500 hectares of meadows, rocks and dry forests stretch here between Dorénaz and Fully. As early as the end of January, when Switzerland is in hibernation and the ski season is in full swing in the ski areas, the first Bulbocodes bloom in the Les Follatères nature reserve. From February onwards, the flowers follow in rapid succession and reach their peak towards the end of spring, accompanied by the singing of nightingales. Then follow the golden tones of summer, drowned in the buzzing of cicadas. Autumn brings further impressions: symphony of autumn colours, scent of streamed hyssop, ballet of birds of prey during migration...
