Single room for rent - 3011 Bern, Rathausgasse 14

From August 1st or September 1st, a spot will be available in my beautiful Bern old town: I am looking for a reliable, tidy, and open person who wants to live with me for at least a year in a spacious old apartment on Rathausgasse.

About the apartment:

The apartment is located in the heart of the Bern old town on Rathausgasse - super central and full of charm. Important to know: In summer, the surroundings are very lively due to the nearby bars and restaurants.

The 4-room apartment is otherwise (and in the colder months) quiet and well-kept, attic and cellar are not available.

About the rooms:

You will get two private rooms:

• A large (24.5 m²) with two large windows and plenty of daylight
• A smaller (9.5 m²) with built-in wardrobe, ideal as an office, studio, or retreat

Both rooms have high ceilings and Art Nouveau flair. The rest of the apartment (kitchen, bathroom, hallway) is rather functional and has normal ceiling heights.

The kitchen is (almost) fully equipped, and we share the bathroom. There is also a rooftop terrace that invites you to relax in the summer.

Rent: CHF 1,300 / month (for both rooms together).
Available from: August 1st or September 1st, 2025

About you:

I am looking for a person,

• who is tidy, clean, and independent
• who really wants to feel comfortable here and likes to stay longer (ideally at least 1 year)
• who is reliable and respectful
• and who is open, communicative - happy to have a conversation or a drink on the terrace, but without the pressure of living together

About me:

I am 34 years old and work as a technical operations assistant at Inselspital. Due to shift work, I am at home at different times. In my free time, I am often at the gym or in a singing group, and on weekends mostly in Zurich or Winterthur, where many of my friends live. I am uncomplicated, calm, open, love music, and appreciate a respectful, relaxed coexistence - not a purpose-driven shared apartment, but also no obligation to be present all the time.
