Location and accessibility

Unterbäch is located on a high plateau on the left side of the Rhone Valley. Known in dialect as "Schattenberge", this region is one of the sunniest in Switzerland and is accessible year-round via a well-developed road from Visp or Turtmann. The village is also served by public transport. (Train to Raron, cable car Raron–Unterbäch). Shopping facilities, hairdresser, fish farm, a post office, and a bank are part of the business in Unterbäch.

In autumn 2017, snowmaking from Brandalp to the village was realized. This investment ensures the return to the village and snow reliability from the Snowlis Swiss Snow Kids Village (children's paradise).

The sports bar is located slightly above the valley station of the sports lifts in the area called "Werliga", at the end of the ski slope and right next to the children's paradise "Swiss Snow Kids Village". Access for the delivery of goods is guaranteed. In winter, the rustic bar is best reached by skis or snowshoes.
Description of the sports bar "Wolfshöhle"

The bar is built in log construction and offers approximately 36 m2 of space for about 50 people (standing and seating). The dining area is equipped with a serving counter that includes cooling compartments, a dishwasher, and a digital cash register. The bar also has a toilet with a urinal and sink, as well as a storage room. A cozy warmth in the rustic cabin atmosphere is provided by the fireplace in the middle of the room. Electric heaters are installed in the toilet and storage room for additional support.

On the terrace, approximately 30 guests can be accommodated in the covered and outdoor areas. Here, one can end the perfect ski day with après-ski while enjoying a phenomenal view of the Valais mountains and the last rays of sunshine of the day.

Unterbäch has been known since 1957 as the "Rütli of Swiss women" because against the decision of the federal government, the municipal council of Unterbäch granted women a unique voting right. Already 14 years before the implementation of women's suffrage, women in Unterbäch were allowed to vote.
