It was founded in 1936 by General Guisan for the dogs of the army's sanitary troops..... and bought by the Muller family in 1948.

In 2006, almost in ruins, the owner rebuilt it to create a peaceful and safe living space for the animals. This shelter has a permit to accommodate 60 dogs and to produce at least 3 litters.


The property is organized as follows: an entrance grants access to the administrative building, which houses the reception, an office, and a training room on the first floor. The ground floor is divided into a grooming salon, a medical station, and a kitchen, as well as some boxes, a cat station, and a room for rodents. This building was constructed in 2014 after a fire destroyed the entire building.

The dog boxes are located in wooden huts with 3 or 4 boxes, which are distributed throughout the property and each have an outdoor area of the playground type. Each box measures 7.5 m². The huts are heated by ceiling heating. Access to water is located in a hut in the center of the property.

The entire property is fenced.

Today, the company, Rocher de l'Aigle SA, employs 5 people for the care of the shelter and the management of the animals. All shelter staff are professional animal caregivers. The infrastructure is also authorized to train apprentices.
