The municipality of Jenaz is located in the canton of Graubünden in the Prättigau/Davos region and is one of the charming villages of the Mittelprättigau. With an area of about 25.9 km² and an altitude of 755 m above sea level, Jenaz offers an attractive combination of nature and history.
Jenaz consists of several districts: the old village on an ice age alluvial terrace above the Landquart, the newer street village in the valley floor, the hamlet of Rüti on the right side of the Landquart, and the fraction of Pragg-Jenaz at the Furnerbach. The historic Alt-Jenaz is characterized by well-preserved wooden houses with traditional house sayings; among them is the impressive "Platzhus", one of the largest wooden houses in the Prättigau.
The municipality has a diverse economic structure with numerous small and efficient businesses. Agriculture continues to play an important role: about half of the municipal area is agriculturally usable, and Jenaz has about 20 active farms.
