The place is rather unsuitable for people looking for the city, although attending festivities in Locarno is absolutely possible if a midnight ascent is not considered a burden.

The path to your paradise at 1000 m is steep and can be quite sweaty. From the post bus to the sunny terrace Monte Cortoi, high above the reservoir of Vogorno in the Verzasca Valley, an inexperienced person should allow a good hour of walking, still 45 minutes from the parking lot! From Mergoscia, it is possible to use public transport, the bus. From there, it is about 15 km to the nearest town Locarno and about 22 km to the next highway A2 in Bellinzona.
