Oberhofen on Lake Thun, with its approximately 2,500 inhabitants, is one of the wealthiest municipalities in Switzerland. About 15 minutes by car from Thun, the village is easily accessible by individual traffic as well as by bus and boat. The center with the castle has all the shopping facilities for daily needs.
In 1912, a Russian banker built the stately Chalet Paradiso in Oberhofen for his wife. The property, with a large surrounding area and grand views of Lake Thun and Niesen, was created on an old vineyard slope in a well-sunned location. The plot is located about five hundred meters from the lakeshore and boat landing, set back on the elevated southern slope and is bordered by mostly detached single-family homes. Removed from the village center and main traffic axis, the location ensures a very quiet residential area.
