Description of the hut high above the Turtmann Valley
The wooden structure made of larch wood and the insulated corrugated iron roof are in perfect condition. The roof truss and the corrugated iron roof were completely replaced in recent years. The two intact solar panels (220 volts) with a total of 6 batteries provide light in the evening hours. An instantaneous water heater in the bathroom provides hot water. The floors in the apartment consist of stone slabs and fitted carpets. The interior is made of solid larch.
The wastewater is disposed of via its own soak pit in front of the house. Glacier drinking water, which is collected about 350m above the hut, is directed to the house via a hose that is about 80cm underground. Heating and cooking is done with the wood and gas stove in the kitchen. A 380-volt generator is located in the weather-protected outbuilding.
In the medium term, no significant investments are planned.
The fantastic forecourt with a fountain, barbecue area, and breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain peaks serves for relaxation and cozy gatherings. The trout pond with about 20 Canadian trout, which notably overwinter there, rounds off this very interesting offer.

General information about the Turtmann Valley
Throughout the Turtmann Valley, you will find smaller groups of houses, the so-called Stafel. These buildings were used by farmers until the 1970s to graze livestock in the alpine area. Most of these stables and alpine huts or Maiensässe have been converted into chalets. The Turtmann Valley is a popular destination for mountain sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. This area has a very natural, intact alpine flora and fauna, which is also evident in cheese production. The Turtmänner cheese is very aromatic and popular among locals. In addition to leisure tourism, there is only mountain agriculture in the Turtmann Valley during the summer months.
