The Château de Wallenried was built around 1750 by Charles de Castella, lord of Wallenried. For nearly a century, Wallenried was one of the strongholds of French culture in the canton of Fribourg.
Today, we offer for sale a property of 50,858 m², designated as a castle protection zone, which includes 4 buildings:
THE CASTLE
High-quality residential building with an architectural volume of 6,266 m³. Around 1823/24, this two-story residence was expanded to the west with a large monumental salon in the 19th-century style.
An apartment in the castle is subject to an ongoing rental contract. It should be noted that the castle requires significant renovations.
Protection level according to the Cultural Heritage Service: A1
THE BARN
This imposing building, with a volume of 6,842 m³, adopts an L-shape and is topped with a four-sided roof. It includes a barn bridge to the east and comprises a stable, a shed, and a barn. Its volume, larger than that of the castle, makes it a remarkable opportunity for a real estate project. It should be noted that extensive work is mandatory.
