Les Charbonnières is a small hamlet in the municipality of Lieu located directly on the shores of Lake Brenet and Lake Joux. The birthplace of Vacherin Mont-d'Or, the village has a hotel-restaurant, a bakery, and a museum. The village is served by public transport Travys.
Many shops and amenities can be found in the village of Sentier or in the town of Vallorbe, both about 10 kilometers away.
The plot is located on the edge of the village zone of Les Charbonnières.
It is an old disused pigsty, built in 1988, which underwent significant renovation work in 2002. Built on a flat plot of 1,376 m2, it is located in an agricultural zone, not subject to the LDFR, in a water protection area (the water protection area is currently being reassessed).
In front of the building, a large asphalted area allows for parking of light vehicles as well as access for delivery trucks.
The building is not excavated. Significant rehabilitation or transformation work on the building is to be expected.
