General information about Staldenried-Gspon
Staldenried and the hamlet of Gspon are not far from Visp. Staldenried and the car-free Gspon turn out to be an excellent hiking area. With the cable car from Stalden, you can quickly reach this hiking paradise. This area is a wonderful starting point for many tours, such as the spectacular Gsponer Höhenweg, which leads around the Fletschhorn from the Simplon Pass to the Saastal and further over the Antronapass to Italy. The residents are involved in more than thirty different village associations, from marksmen, drummers, and pipers to skiers and footballers. The highest football field in Europe is located in Gspon. Economically significant for the community is viticulture and the breeding of the local black-nosed sheep.
