Location and accessibility The former mountain farming village is located at 1,672 m above sea level at the end of the Saas Valley. Since the tourist boom of the internationally known tourism region Saas-Fee/Saastal, all municipalities in the Saas Valley have grown significantly. Saas-Almagell can be reached year-round via a well-developed road or by public transport (postbuses run year-round from Brig to Saas-Fee, at peak times every half hour). The ice, sports, and event hall in Saas-Grund, which will open in 2025, can also be reached by postbus in a few minutes.

General information about Saas-Almagell Saas-Almagell consists of several hamlets: On the Alps of the region, the cattle still spend the summer. The most prominent mountain above Saas-Almagell is the Almagellerhorn. Mountain agriculture has lost significance in recent decades; today, tourism is the most important economic sector in the Saas Valley, and Saas-Almagell also benefits from the electricity industry, as the highest earth dam in Europe - the Mattmark - is located at the end of the Saas Valley. In summer, the region offers 300 km of hiking trails, tennis, mini-golf, football, playgrounds, and plenty of nature.
