Four building elements form the architectural
masterpiece, the bronze-colored
facade sparkles in the sun.
What is currently still a model on the
desk of the architectural office is
soon to be real. At the parking lot on the
Obstgartenstrasse 35 in Kloten, WESTGATE
is planned – an ecologically forward-looking
office building with 20,000 m2 of usable space. A
ecosystem that conserves resources, connects people,
optimizes processes, and facilitates the
working day. The central element
of the building is an inner light courtyard with
generous lobby, lounge area, and bar.
The interplay of warm bronze and
natural tones, as well as the combination of
metal, textile, glass, wood, and stone, create
a timelessly modern effect and simultaneously
represent a symbiosis of home and distance –
fitting for the location at the airport.
Of the total 20,000 m2, over
16,000 m2 are reserved for high-quality
office rental space in premium
tenant fit-out. The layout is
designed for any desired room program.
In the center of the building, a
state-of-the-art conference center is being created
with an auditorium and rooms for meetings
and workshops, which can also be booked by external parties.
Visitors can stay, for example, at the nearby
Leonardo Hotel Zurich Airport.
Further amenities of WESTGATE
include a diverse gastronomy offer
with rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace as well as
practical services such as daycare and co-working
space.
CO2-neutral operation of the building technology in the office building.
In addition to the spatial qualities, the building meets
all the requirements of the concept
<< **Green Building Switzerland**>> and is certified according to
Minergie P and Leed Gold Standard.
Natural building materials such as wood and stone ensure a healthy indoor climate.
The high insulation quality of the building envelope
prevents energy losses. At the same time,
the high-quality glazing reduces unwanted
heat entry. Also special is the
intelligent building technology: The system
optimally coordinates heating, cooling, ventilation, sun protection
and photovoltaics.
Heating and cooling are done using groundwater heat pumps.
Additionally, the sustainable energy cycle is supported by an
optimized heat recovery.
