Rapperswil-Jona is the regional center at the upper Lake Zurich and borders the neighboring cantons of Zurich and Schwyz. The city is located at the southwestern tip of the canton of St. Gallen and is embedded in an extremely picturesque landscape on the shores of the upper Lake Zurich, surrounded by the hilly landscape of the Etzel and Bachtel areas. As the second largest city in the canton (27,000 inhabitants), Rapperswil-Jona has excellent infrastructure as well as a rich leisure offering.
An absolute highlight in Rapperswil-Jona is the old town. In addition to numerous specialty shops, there are also culinary highlights to experience in the diverse restaurants and bars. The city, also known for its historic castle with breathtaking views of Lake Zurich and the deer park, attracts not only locals but is also a popular travel destination for tourists. This is justified - the city also has a lot to offer culturally: events are now an integral part of society, including both the blues'n'jazz and the lake night festival as major urban attractions.
The good connection to the Zurich economic area makes Rapperswil-Jona particularly attractive as a place to live and work.
