The southern part of the Jardins de la Pâla is characterized by its pronounced urbanity and its privileged position along the rue de Vevey. The Acacias, Cèdre, and Hêtre buildings aim to be an entrance to the converted arsenal, a signal that attracts and invites wandering through the gardens. This passage is translated by a mineral opening from the street to the heart of the neighborhood, animated by activities that energize it. Following the rhythm of the street, 'the part V' integrates contemporarily into an existing built ensemble marked by its era. Three strong and colorful volumes can be read, placed on a dark base that connects with the city.
These three buildings, located at equal distances from each other as well as from the adjacent buildings, play on concepts of offset. A recentering towards the East balances the built volumes, and biases are made to reduce the views and offer the occupants different perspectives. The outdoor spaces alternate to vary the typologies and the relationships between the buildings. The project optimizes space and allows for significant density that respects its immediate environment. The challenge is to combine a certain density with an important quality of life in the Jardins de la Pâla.
The urban redevelopment project of the former Arsenal district is at the heart of the urban dynamics of Bulle. Located near the exit of the A12 motorway and at the end of the urban agglomeration at the junction of the route de la Pâla and the Route de Vevey, just 1.5 kilometers from the historic center of the city via the rue de Vevey, it has so far developed around industrial and artisanal activities. The neighborhood is no longer an undifferentiated area of the city of Bulle but is transforming into a fully-fledged centrality.
