Canton Glarus (www.gl.ch)
The Canton of Glarus is an attractive residential, economic, and recreational area. It has around 42,000 inhabitants and is located halfway between the economic center of Zurich and the alpine recreational areas.
The canton has a high school and a special sports school in Glarus (sportschule-glarnerland.ch). Diverse cultural offerings and a wide range of leisure activities – skiing in the famous ski areas of Braunwald (braunwald.ch) and Elm (elm.ch), the lesser-known but no less attractive recreational areas of Mollis and Filzbach (glarus-nord.ch), horseback riding, biking, hiking, mountain and ski tours, paragliding and gliding, and much more – guarantee a high quality of life throughout the canton. Additionally, Glarnerland remains largely free of fog and sunny during the dreary winter months in the Mittelland.
Netstal (www.glarus.ch)
Netstal has around 3,000 inhabitants. Since the municipal reform on January 1, 2011, Netstal has been part of the municipality of Glarus. Located at 458 meters above sea level, the village extends on the western side of the Glarus main valley and is traversed by the Löntsch River, which flows from the Klöntal. Characteristic of the townscape are four hills that date back to a prehistoric landslide from the Glärnisch massif.
Thanks to its location and infrastructure, Netstal is an attractive place to live with a rich history and a vibrant community. The Goldigen outdoor pool invites you to linger and enjoy during the warm months.
Here, it is good to live and work with the whole family.
