Are you traveling by bike or on foot? Then we have the perfect house for you! At the end of a cul-de-sac, close to the city and in the desirable Steig quarter, we are selling a wonderfully sunny single-family house WITHOUT garage and parking space, but with plenty of space and nice neighbors.
The extremely generously designed house is divided as follows:
Ground floor: Large entrance, guest toilet with shower, spacious living/dining area with open kitchen with glass ceramic, refrigerator, dishwasher, circulating oven and granite countertop, exit to the unheated winter garden, study.
Upper floor: 3 bedrooms, bathroom with bathtub, shower, sink and toilet.
Attic: Sunny, light-flooded room with water connection and exit to the roof terrace with a magnificent view over the old town.
Basement: 3 cellar rooms (1 of which is heated), 1 technical room with heat pump heating (air-water), 300 lt boiler (can be heated via heat pump or electrically), controlled ventilation, washing machine. The photovoltaic system with 3.29 kWp was installed in 2012.
The house is Minergie certified and therefore has controlled ventilation in the rooms. This saves you the hassle of ventilating and ensures low heating and ancillary costs. The windows are triple-glazed and the frames are made of low-maintenance plastic.
The spacious garden invites you to play and linger on warm days and can be designed according to your own ideas. A recessed seating area with a renovation-needing pizza oven is already laid out. A footpath leads from the house down to the city, which can be reached in a few minutes.
Our conclusion: Those who seek peace and still want to be quickly in the city on foot have found their paradise here.
The city of Schaffhausen, with its approximately 38,000 inhabitants, is located in the northernmost corner of Switzerland at the Rhine knee of Eastern Switzerland on the border with Germany. It owes its origin to the Rhine Falls: The settlement arose where the goods traffic needed a transshipment and stacking place to bypass the impassable rapids for ships.
Due to the many bay windows and the beautifully painted house facades, the car-free old town of Schaffhausen is considered one of the most picturesque in Switzerland. Many beautiful guild and citizen houses date back to the Gothic or Baroque period. The lively old town offers many shopping opportunities. The nucleus of the city was the street market in today's Vordergasse. Here stands the high Gothic St. Johann Church with its extraordinary acoustics.
Visible from afar is the landmark of the city, the Munot fortress, which was built in the 16th century. The ring-shaped bulwark was built from 1564 to 1589 according to a design by Albrecht Dürer.
