It belongs to the district of Brugg in the canton of Aargau. From 2026, the municipality of Villnachern will officially belong to Brugg, which will positively affect the tax rate.
Villnachern is a lively community with various clubs, a village music group, a nice outdoor pool, and an original village center, where the village shop (Volg) and the bakery are also located within walking distance.
School can be attended in the village from kindergarten to middle school. The upper school will be in Brugg in the future.
