General information about Ulrichen
The name Ulrichen comes from an Alemannic clan elder. With the Nufenen and Gries passes, Ulrichen is the gateway to the south. Did the local pasta factory also draw inspiration from this? In the past, it was the muleteers and traders who shaped the mountain village. Today, it is travellers who want to drive and climb the beautiful Goms passes in all their variations. For a long time, Ulrichen was almost "besieged" by the Swiss army, with all the advantages and disadvantages. Today, the former army area offers possibilities that have not yet been fully exploited. For example, the Nordic Centre has been created, where cross-country skiing races of almost every category take place.
