Location and accessibility
Eggerberg at 846 m above sea level is not a closed village, but a collection of 13 hamlets: Weitematte, Schliecht, Mühlackern, Wirmsland, Nest, Engernhaus, Berg, Lipboden, Halta, Zum Stadel, Rohrli, Eggen, Hohwang. The municipality also includes the pre-Alpine areas of Finnen, Wang, and Wyer. Eggerberg has about 340 inhabitants. The neighboring municipalities of Eggerberg are Baltschieder, Naters, Lalden, and Ausserberg. The mountain village is very well accessible all year round via the well-developed road and public transport (post bus and BLS).
The property is located at the lower edge of the village of Eggerberg and is accessible via the narrow Känelacherstrasse, which is cleared of snow by the municipality in winter.
Description of the apartment
The house from 1971 is in good condition for its age. The basement is built in solid construction with masonry. The upper floors were erected in wooden block construction. The Eternit roof is still from the construction period and should be renewed in the coming years. Heating is done by oil heating. The old radiators still work perfectly. From the ground floor entrance, you reach the general laundry room and the two cellars. Via a solid wooden staircase inside or through the entrance behind the house, you reach the approximately 110 m2 large apartment on the first floor, where the kitchen, living room, four bedrooms, bathroom, and guest toilet are located. The walls are partly made of solid beams and partly finished with wooden paneling. In the living room and in the room on the west side of the apartment, the old, solid wooden parquet is still present. The remaining rooms are equipped with Novilon flooring. The double-glazed windows are still from the early days. On the spacious balcony, you have a fantastic view into the Mattertal and the Valais mountains.

General information about Eggerberg
The cozy mountain village on the sunny slopes is located slightly above the charming town of Lonza in Visp. In just 5 to 10 minutes by car, you can reach the Visp train station. The beautiful and lively town of Brig-Glis, with many shopping options, can be reached by BLS train in just 8 minutes.
Eggerberg is very quiet, sunny, and is located right next to the landscape protection area of Baltschiedertal. The village is embedded in a beautiful and intact landscape. Beautiful parts of the municipality belong to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch. The residential area in Eggerberg offers a wide view into the Rhone Valley and the magnificent Mischabel massif with its imposing four-thousanders.
The cultural life of the municipality is characterized by an extraordinary diversity: The brass band, the drummers and pipers, as well as the church choir cover the musical area, while the women's and mothers' community covers the social area. The sports club is dedicated to sports, and the sheep breeding cooperative is agriculturally oriented. Traditions and cultural heritage are maintained by the baking house community and the cultural commission. Among the cultural treasures of Eggerberg is also a small wine and fruit museum.
