The history:
The house, nicknamed "Le Nil" by the villagers, was built between the two world wars. At the time, several wooden cabins were built to house the Polish workers who came to exploit the peat. The largest of them survived, evolving over time: a second floor was added, before becoming a small shoe polish factory, then finally a dwelling.
Its atypical structure - wooden beams, red bricks on the outside, black bricks on the inside - makes it a unique building, without a precise age, having crossed the ages thanks to regular renovations, always carried out in a spirit of durability and respect for the building.
For three generations, the Guillaume-Gentil family has carefully overseen its evolution.
