Hey everyone,
We (Elin, Sophie and Jonas) are looking for a new roommate from 01.06/01.07 2025 (flexible by arrangement) to the end of December 2025 for our 4-person shared apartment, as Elin is doing a semester abroad.
A few facts about us (short and sweet):
Elin is 22 years old, currently studying in her 4th semester at the PH here in Zurich, and plans to become a full-time "silent fox" presenter to primary school children later on :P (she will be away on a semester abroad in Singapore from June to the end of this year). Sophie is 19 years old, works as a flight attendant and has now also started studying law, and there's a rumour that she's very good at burning food in the pan :D. Jonas, that's me, the one who's writing this. I'm 22 years old, and I'm studying Mechanical Engineering at ETH, now even in the Master's program... ufff how time flies. Besides university, I regularly go to the gym and also work part-time in a nightclub/bar here in Zurich. I'm the main tenant (or rather, my parents legally speaking :))
How our shared apartment currently looks:
In our current state, we are not a Zweck-WG (purpose-built shared apartment), but it's clear to us that a person who only lives with us temporarily is also part of the shared apartment and also part of the shared apartment life (if you want that too). Watching a movie on our 8K TV 😝, relaxed barbecue evenings on the balcony (probably more in the summer), or just small conversations in the hallway, anything is possible, nothing is necessary. Basically, we are all very open-minded and communicative people in the shared apartment. By the way, if you don't have any shared apartment experience yet, no problem, I never understood why so many shared apartments consider this as a prerequisite so often. Overall, we are more likely to be happy with people around our age, and it can happen that you are just moving out. Last but not least, the topic of cleanliness. Before founding the shared apartment, I myself lived for 12 months as a subtenant in the apartment and lived with people who had never really heard of cleaning, and I never want that again (or we don't want that). This doesn't mean that nothing is ever lying around or that everything is sterile, but we would expect a certain degree of normal cleanliness and initiative :).
A further point that is personally important to me is that I would like to only have tolerant and open-minded roommates in the shared apartment. I am gay myself and have many friends from the LGBTQ community, and I don't want people in my home who have any problems with that.
The apartment and room:
As it stands now, the rent including additional costs is 780.48 CHF per month. The deposit for the room is 2,000 CHF (a total of 8,000 for the apartment divided by four). The room itself is 13.6 m^2 large and is the third door on the right in the floor plan (not the one marked in red). The apartment has 5.5 rooms, a total of 107.0 m^2 net living space, a living-dining area of about 30.0 m^2, two bathrooms and a large balcony. We have very high ceilings, which makes the apartment even more spacious. In the basement there is a basement room for our apartment for storing larger items, as well as the laundry room, which is for the whole house. Elin will rent out the room furnished (except for the mattress and the keyboard :D). She would charge a deposit of 500 CHF for this.
The location:
In my opinion, the apartment is very well and centrally located, but also very quiet. It's a 10-minute walk to Schwerzenbach ZH train station (about 2 minutes by bike). From there, two S-Bahn lines run every 15 minutes to the main station. The journey also takes about 15 minutes. Here at the station there is a Migrolino, but also a Denner and Voi. A 10-minute walk away, however, there is also the Volkiland (a larger mall) with Coop and many shops. Around the Volkiland there is also a gym, a DIY store, a KFC, Mc's, MediaMarkt, another DIY store and much more. There's basically everything you need.
What's next?:
If you could imagine being part of our shared apartment, please feel free to contact us and write about what you're doing right now, just a few things about yourself. It doesn't have to be a novel and doesn't have to be lyrically sophisticated 😅. So that we know that you have read through a few things here, write the number 12345 in the first line of your message.
We look forward to hearing from you.
PS: We try to give everyone feedback, but we apologize in advance if this is not completely successful.
