Hey everyone,
we (Elin, Sophie, and Jonas) are looking for a new roommate starting 01.08.2025 for our shared apartment:
A few facts about us (short and sweet):
Elin is 22 years old, currently studying in the 4th semester at the PH here in Zurich, and plans to become a full-time silence fox demonstrator for elementary school students :P (however, she will likely be in Singapore for a semester abroad from June until the end of this year)
Sophie is 19 years old, works as a flight attendant, and has just started studying law, and there are rumors that she can burn food in the pan very well :D
Jonas, that's me, the one writing. I am 22 years old and studying Mechanical Engineering at ETH, now even in my Master's... ufff how time flies. Besides university, I regularly go to the gym and also work part-time in a nightclub/bar here in Zurich. I am the main tenant (or legally speaking, my parents are :))
What we wish for the shared apartment:
It is very important for us that we are not a purpose-driven shared apartment in our current state, and we are looking for people who are also not looking for purpose-driven shared apartments, but can imagine a certain shared living experience, or even wish for exactly that. Watching a movie on our 8K TV 😝, relaxed barbecue evenings on the balcony (probably more in summer), or just small conversations in the hallway, everything is possible, nothing is mandatory. Basically, we are all very open-minded and communicative people in the shared apartment. By the way, if you don't have any shared living experience yet, no problem, I have never understood why so many shared apartments consider that a prerequisite. Overall, we prefer people around our age, and it can happen that someone is just moving out for the first time. Last but not least, the topic of cleanliness. Personally, before founding the shared apartment, I lived for 12 months as a subtenant in an apartment and lived with people who had never really heard of cleaning, and I never want that again (or we don't want that). This doesn't mean that nothing is ever lying around or that everything is sterile, but we would expect a certain level of normal cleanliness and initiative :).
Another point that is personally important to me is that I would like to have only tolerant and open-minded roommates in the shared apartment. I am gay myself and have many friends from the LGBTQ community, and I do not want people in my home who have any problems with that.
We would like to rent the room indefinitely, so if you are already planning to stay for a shorter time in the contract, you should better look for something temporary.
The apartment:
As of now, the rent including utilities is 852.54 CHF per month. The deposit for the room is 2,000 CHF (a total of 8,000 for the apartment divided by four). The room itself is 15.1 m^2 large and is the second door on the right in the floor plan. The apartment has 5.5 rooms, a total of 107.0 m^2 net living space, a living-dining area of about 30.0 m^2, two bathrooms, and a large balcony. We have very high ceilings, which makes the apartment feel even more spacious. In the basement, there is a storage room for our apartment for larger items, as well as the laundry room, which is for the whole house.
The location:
In my opinion, the apartment is very well and centrally located, but also very quiet. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the Schwerzenbach ZH train station (about 2 minutes by bike). From there, two S-Bahn lines run every 15 minutes to the main station. The journey also takes about 15 minutes. Here at the train station, there is usually a Migrolino, but also a Denner and Voi. However, 10 minutes on foot, there is also the Volkiland (a larger mall) with Coop and many shops. Around the Volkiland, there is also a gym, a hardware store, a KFC, McDonald's, MediaMarkt, another hardware store, and much more. Everything you need is actually there.
What's next?:
If you can imagine being part of our shared apartment, feel free to get in touch and write a bit about what you are currently doing, just a few things about yourself. It doesn't have to be a novel and doesn't have to be lyrically refined 😅. So that we know you have read a few things here, please write the number 12345 in the first line of your message.
We look forward to hearing from you.
PS: We try to give everyone feedback, but we apologize in advance if we cannot do so completely.
Elin, Sophie, and Jonas
