Basel – Cultural City on the Rhine
Basel is the third largest city in Switzerland and is located at the tri-border area between Germany, France, and Switzerland. The city has around 180,000 inhabitants and is a significant center for culture, science, and economy.
With over 40 museums, including the world-renowned Kunstmuseum Basel, the city is culturally leading. Basel is also home to the oldest university in Switzerland (founded in 1460) and is the headquarters of global companies like Roche and Novartis.
Thanks to the Rhine, a well-preserved old town, and internationally known events like Art Basel or the Basler Fasnacht, Basel offers a high quality of life and international flair.
