In the new urban residential complex at Escher-Wyss-Platz, 193 residential units are being created, providing living space for around 550 people. On the third floor of the new building, we are renting a 7.5-room apartment. It offers a variety of usage options and is aimed at different forms of living (shared living, intergenerational living, etc.).
The new residential complex is being built on the historic tram depot Hard from 1912. Between the buildings, there is a spacious courtyard available to residents as a communal open space. Along the Limmat, a public foot and bike path with recreational areas is being created. Atelier and commercial spaces complete the development.
The construction project also includes the partial renovation of the listed tram depot. This is complemented by a new depot hall with 25 tram parking spaces as well as areas for maintenance and repair. Operational and service rooms for the Zurich transport companies are also integrated.

To rent this apartment, special conditions apply:
A minimum occupancy of 6 people is required.
Age group 65+ preferred for at least 50% of the residents
Residents must form a rental association (association formation)
The association aims for an alternative form of living and rents the apartment.
Residents waive the use of a private car.
This call for applications is not a procedure under public law with standardized formalities and corresponding legal remedies. The properties of the city of Zurich will consider the most suitable offer based on their conviction. Applicants who are invited to an interview but then drop out of the process will be informed of the reasons. No correspondence will be conducted regarding the reasons for applications that did not make it to the interview round. The final contract design and the corresponding approval of the municipal approval authorities remain reserved. The bidders bear all costs associated with their offer themselves. Commission or goodwill payments are excluded.
