You can also rent a small cellar or a heated room that is only accessible from the garden. It is a family-friendly neighborhood and only a few minutes' walk from Meierhofplatz and Werdinsel. We love this apartment, it's an absolute gem. Unfortunately, it has become too small for us, so we are looking for something bigger. It's a 4-room apartment but can also be 4.5 :-)
