The residential complex has been included in the Basel "Inventory of Protected Buildings" (2022). It embodies the ideal type of the second main current of post-war modernism at an above-average level for Basel.
The offered ground floor apartment (approx. 25 m²: studio with a front area of 20.3 m²; bathroom 4.8 m²) is centrally located. There are numerous direct connections to train stations, the airport, hospitals, and also the Novartis Campus. The city center (market square, 900m, 12 min), the university (1km, 13 min), and the Basel SBB long-distance train station (1400m, 19 min) are within walking distance.
The studio is oriented towards the garden, away from traffic noise. There is also a barbecue area with garden furniture. The use of the climbing frame with slide for children is only permitted for residents of the house. In front of the house is a park with a grotto. Around the house are the green areas of the Schützenhaus (across the street) and the Schützenmattpark (190m, 3 min) in close proximity - ideal for joggers.
Nearby medical facilities include general practitioners (including emergency service Medbase Toujours Basel Bahnhof SBB, open 365 days), dentists (including emergency service zahnarztzentrum.ch Basel Bahnhof SBB, open 365 days), specialists, as well as the university hospital and children's hospital. They are located in the immediate vicinity or can be reached in minutes on foot or by public transport (see below).
Supermarkets are available at short distances (organic supermarket Höheners 190m, 3 min; MIGROS 270m, 4 min; coop 500m, 8 min).

APARTMENT / EQUIPMENT
The living area and kitchen have a solid parquet floor and a veneered solid wood ceiling made of oak. The entire apartment is designed in oak, white, and anthracite. The kitchen offers a two-burner induction stove with an extractor hood, microwave, oven (deep-frozen pizza fits in), and a refrigerator with ***freezer compartment. You can easily cook for yourself or enjoy warm meals at the small dining table while watching TV. The kitchen area is open to the studio.
The large corner wardrobe with a long front of mirrored doors is well-equipped (clothes lift, pants/skirt pull-out). It offers plenty of space, including for storing the ironing board and the second bar stool.
The two windows are equipped with an insect protection net, so you can ventilate or sleep undisturbed with the window open without unwanted visitors. In front of the wide window front, in the garden, there is the possibility for an outdoor seating area. Garden furniture (table & 2 chairs) is available in the studio. With little effort, the 2.25 m wide window can also be opened, allowing you to sit outside and watch TV.
The natural stone bathroom offers, in addition to the shower, a 150 cm bathtub, a shower toilet (combination of toilet and bidet), and a comfortable, large double sink. The floor is tiled with Onsernone (gray paragneiss from Switzerland) and the wall with light gray granite (Gamma white).
Furthermore, there is a generous rooftop terrace for communal use with outdoor showers and sun loungers. From there, you have a view over all of Basel. You can sit and chill.
A cellar compartment (approx. 2.5 m²) with eco-plan shelves, a clothes rail, and a power outlet is also available.
There is a good charging infrastructure for mobile phones: 3× USB-A connection at the bed with two cables for 3 connections (USB2.0Micro-B, Lightning & USB-C) and 1× USB-C to USB-C.
WiFi, water/hot water, heating, and other ancillary costs are included; only electricity costs are additional. Dishes, cooking utensils, towels, hairdryer, toothbrush holder, bathrobe, cleaning and cleaning agents are available. Wherever possible, an environmentally friendly or sustainable option has been chosen. Only what is also required in a hotel needs to be brought along.
