Marly is a welcoming, active, and diverse municipality, both economically and socially.
Its geographical position, southeast of the Grand Fribourg agglomeration, is favorable. The old village cores and newer neighborhoods thrive in a sort of cradle limited to the northwest by the Sarine, to the south by the Gérine, and to the east by the municipalities of Pierrafortscha and Villarsel-sur-Marly. An agricultural area, around Chésalles, forms the southern limit of the municipality.
