Zermatt itself is car-free and can be reached by road from Täsch with a special permit or by the Matterhorn-Gotthard Bahn from Täsch. The Täsch-Zermatt connection runs around the clock from Thursday to Sunday, and until midnight for the rest of the week. In the village itself, transport is done by electric taxis or horse-drawn carriages. Zermatt offers a very generous range of leisure activities.
