Grüningen

The municipality of Grüningen is located in the Hinwil district between Pfannenstiel and Bachtel at 502 m above sea level. The valley floor of the Zurich Oberland is characterized by woodland and meadows, various hill ranges and reed land. The highest point in the municipality is the Schlüssberg (554 m above sea level), with 3 hectares it is the largest vineyard in the Zurich Oberland.

In 2022, Grüningen had 3,845 inhabitants, distributed over 1,675 households. The tax rate is currently 113%.

The nearest motorway access is 1.9 km away, Wetzikon is 13 minutes by car and Rapperswil-Jona is 15 minutes away.

Grüningen boasts some architectural treasures in its historic town (Stedtli). The castle offers space for every occasion – wedding celebrations, family feasts or business seminars. In the castle cellar there is a small castle café, which invites you to linger. The castle museum also offers a good overview of the history of Grüningen and its former rule and bailiwick.
