Location and accessibility
The village Birgisch (1,093 m above sea level) extends in the form of scattered hamlets over a long high plateau on the right flank of the Rhone Valley. Birgisch, belonging to the municipality of Naters, is easily accessible throughout the year via the well-developed cantonal road and public transport (post bus from Brig train station). Like the entire right valley side in the Valais Rhone Valley, the mountain village of Birgisch also benefits from an extraordinarily sunny location. In addition, there are fantastic views of the peaks in the Simplon area.
The house is located directly on the main road at the village entrance of Birgisch, about 7 minutes by car from Naters. Shopping facilities and restaurants are a 3-minute drive away. The bus stop Birgisch, Eiholz is a 2-minute walk away.
Description of the house
The house, built in 1973 and in good condition, offers a magnificent view of the Valais mountains and is situated in a sunny location in Birgisch. The extension completed in 2014 created two additional rooms.
The approximately 60 m2 large apartment on the first floor is accessible via an outdoor staircase. Upon entering the bright and friendly apartment, one immediately feels at home. The wooden paneling gives a cozy feel. The floors in the kitchen and bathroom are tiled, while laminate has been laid in the living and dining area as well as in the two bedrooms. Heating is provided by a pellet stove, which gives a pleasant warmth on cold winter days.
Access to the attic is via a pull-down ladder in the corridor. From the terrace, there is a fantastic view of the valley, a seating area for cozy hours with a glass of white wine. The front yard on the north side of the house offers enough space for a raclette with family and friends. The original roof is covered with Eternit, and the extension is covered with Prefa roof panels.
The rooms on the ground floor, with approximately 50 m2, include one room, a garage, and a motorcycle garage, providing plenty of space for hobbies and tools.

General information about Birgisch
Public life in Birgisch takes place in the main hamlet <<Zär Kapälla>>. Here, within a few meters, are the chapel from the knight's era, the school and community center, as well as the restaurant, fire station, and a grocery store. Above the Birgisch forest and the steep cliffs, the Nesselalp rises. It is a popular resting point on the beautiful hike from Birgisch to Belalp. Suonen are historical irrigation channels in Valais, with the Suone Obersta first mentioned in 1435. It receives its water from the Mundbach and leads it east of Birgisch into the Milchbach. Looking from Birgisch across to the other side of the Gredetschtal, the municipality of Mund lies there. The mountain village is known far beyond the national borders for its saffron. The region Naters - Blatten - Belalp is especially known for its membership in the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau.
