**Accompanied by the monument preservation, this residential house in the village center has been excellently restored.
"...incredibly picturesque group" ** This is how Prof. Dr. Albert Knöpfli described this unique property and its neighboring houses back in 1962 (The Art Monuments of Switzerland, Canton Thurgau, Volume III, Page 379, Image and Description).
The former tavern "Zum Schäfli" has a very interesting history: 200 years ago, the first veterinarian trained at a university in the Canton of Thurgau lived and worked here and shared his knowledge in courses with colleagues.
Construction Residential House
Detached, three-story block building. Infills in clay construction, facades with lime plaster and visible beams. Not basemented.
Ceilings: Paneling, planks, in the kitchen white plaster.
Barn: The also restored barn (built around 1750) has a volume of 1,082 m³ and could be expanded to three stories (preliminary project with apartments available). The building shows the classic division with:
