High above Dornach, in one of the most impressive, unobstructed locations in north-western Switzerland, the sunset becomes the most beautiful moment of the day at SUNSET 'The Peak of Modern Art Deko'. With the rolling hills of the Jura landscape and the city of Basel on the horizon, surrounded by meadows and fields, this unique property offers a very special living experience. Whether indoors or outdoors, at SUNSET the wide horizon with its breathtaking natural backdrop is always in view. The property borders directly on a large agricultural zone on its broad side and, with its unobstructed hillside location, is perched on a plateau with a floor area of 908 square metres above Dornach. Large seating areas on two levels, partly covered and surrounded by a pool, lawns and flower beds, invite you to linger. Thanks to its south-west orientation, SUNSET enjoys generous sunshine throughout the day and invites you to enjoy impressive sunsets in absolute peace and privacy until late in the evening.
Room layout on the garden level:
The modern, well-designed and spacious floor plan with large windows facing the garden and the view offers space for a light-flooded, open yet intimate living experience in several areas.
The living room: When the automatic window blinds open in the morning and you prepare your first cappuccino in the open kitchen while looking through the large window front of the living room, the sight of the SUNSET horizon warms your heart and the day can begin. Flooded with light during the day, the open living area transforms into a skilfully staged oasis of well-being in the evening with a magnificent sunset.
The entrance hall: The entrance area alone gives you a glimpse of the beauty of the house – walls made of Nero Marquina marble, golden wallpaper, spotlights and wall LEDs embedded in the ceiling, oak floors throughout the house, and a built-in wardrobe welcome residents and guests alike.
The dining room: The eye-catching highlight of the house is the 5.3-metre-high dining room, which is also furnished with Nero Marquina marble, golden wallpaper, wood, lighting icons, glass and a unique gas fireplace in the style of modern Art Deco. Large windows bring light and greenery into the house, and a sliding door extends the room to the garden with pool. In addition, the unique wine 'cellar' is always in view.
And this is no ordinary wine cellar, but a work of art. That's why it's called WinecellART and is the jewel of the house. It can be cooled down to 12 degrees and was specially designed for this room. The bottle racks float and shine as brightly as the bottles themselves. The charred wood forms an extraordinary frame and, in addition to its beauty, also brings the smoky, earthy scent that one desires in every wine cellar. The neon lettering in real neon glass and the door handle are personalised and can be adapted to the needs of the new owner. The WinecellArt system was specially designed for slightly larger bottles (champagne) and offers space for approx. 600 bottles.
The kitchen: The custom-made kitchen is both visually appealing and practical, with fronts and worktops made of solid Dekton. It is equipped with high-quality modern Siemens appliances and, with its large cooking island and attached solid wood bar, invites you to cook and linger. Behind the doors are the coffee machine, other kitchen appliances, generous storage space, shelves, drawers and a practical separate storage room (Reduit) for supplies and cooking utensils.
Home office: A wallpaper was specially designed for the blue room and its harmonious staging. Dimmable LED strips and extravagant wall lights create a varied ambience. The highlight here is also the gas fireplace mentioned above. It brings light and atmosphere from the adjoining dining room, and when it is lit, even working becomes a pleasure. The room is the ideal retreat for making plans, reading and working.
Upper floor layout:
Master bedroom: The ensuite master bedroom is reminiscent of a luxurious hotel suite that you can immerse yourself in and want to stay in. Wallpaper in subtle natural tones and tropical designs provide warmth, while Nera Marquina wall coverings add a touch of elegance to the room. An epoch-making ensuite bathroom with golden Dornbracht fittings in a retro design, a modern ensuite dressing room and a 20 sqm terrace with a view as far as the eye can see extend the bedroom into a pure place of relaxation. Atmospheric lighting and oak parquet flooring round off the overall concept. The air conditioning is also cleverly integrated here, ensuring a relaxing sleep in summer.
In addition to the gallery, the upper floor also offers another ensuite bedroom with an integrated bathroom, toilet and shower. This bathroom has natural light and impresses with its understated modernity, solid fixtures and modern fittings. Large windows, modern air conditioning and modern fixtures round off this second sleeping area on the upper floor.
Space available in the basement: The basement has another room, which is currently used as a modern fitness area with a steam shower. It gets lots of natural light through the atrium windows.
The large double garage offers additional storage space.
