The Eishof in Seewen, an almost forgotten gem!
The building originally used for ice storage has a long history behind it. For a long time, the adjacent lake, the Baslerweier, served as a source not only for the water supply of Basel but also for the supply of ice to the city of Basel. In the early 20th century, this significant building was expanded with a hotel addition and operated under the name 'Hotel Euler zum Eishof'.
Project Idea
Both the ice storage and the era of operation of the Hotel Euler are now history.
With the developed project, this historical gem is to be given new life. The transformation of the former hotel structure will create six row houses.
In the historical natural stone base below, a generous space offering for commercial activities and/or for leisure and hobbies will be created. Many interesting combinations of living and working or living and hobbies are possible.
Space Offering Row Houses
3.5 to 6.5 room row houses with living areas from 100m2 to 175m2.
Space Offering Commercial Areas in the Base
Areas from 50m2 to 150m2 with approx. 8m room height.
Project Development for Co-Creation
While the rough division into base and structure is given, the rest of the building concept is to be kept deliberately open to address individual wishes and expansion variants.
Therefore, not only potential buyers who wish to acquire a finished row house are welcome, but also interested parties who want to bring their creativity and ideas into the process.
