This unique and listed building, built in 1892 as a <
It is an impressive example of historical industrial architecture in the style of a castle-like brewery building from the 19th century with a carefully designed brick facade, plastered base area, and decorative elements such as belt cornices and elaborately crafted door and window arches.
The building was converted into four small apartments in 1987, with some historical elements preserved, including the rare concrete vault or the original staircase with wooden railing.
Since 2005, the house has been lovingly transformed into a stylish single-family home by a couple of artists and architects. Highlights include a spacious salon with stucco ceiling and high-quality parquet flooring, individually designed rooms with harmonious color schemes, and artistic ceiling objects.
The existing kitchens and bathrooms allow for flexible use as a residential and commercial building, as a single-family home, or division into several residential units. The elevated location, just about 200 m from the Landsgemeindeplatz, offers a dreamlike view over the old town, valley, and Glarner mountain world from the upper floors.
