The Cedars - Former residence of the painter Frédéric Rouge, between heritage and potential
Nestled below the village of Ollon, in the Vaud Chablais, the villa Les Cèdres was built in 1870 at the initiative of Mr. Pick, an Alsatian who came to settle in Switzerland. For his summer residence, he called upon the Lausanne architect Besancenet, who designed an elegant building in a style that blends charm and character.
In 1902, the property changed hands. The painter Frédéric Rouge, in search of a larger space than his studio in Aigle, acquired it. It remained in his family until 2012, when the new owners undertook a complete renovation, with the utmost respect for the history and original architecture. The villa is now classified note 2 in the inventory of Historical Monuments of the Canton of Vaud, attesting to its heritage importance.
In 2014, the entire property underwent a major restoration, combining the conservation of period elements with contemporary comfort.
A dual-purpose estate: exceptional residence and development potential
The property spans a large plot of approximately 5,211m², offering a privileged living environment in the heart of a wooded park. A part of 2,183 m² benefits from a building permit in force for the construction of two contemporary villas with flat roofs. The architectural project, designed in close collaboration with the Historical Monuments, has been carefully integrated into the site to preserve the harmony of the place. This permit, free of architect mandate, can be presented upon request.
