Unique mountain guesthouse Café Trift - Restaurant - Seminar
The probably most beautiful mountain restaurant in the Saastal. The owner Xaver Bumann has transformed the Café Trift into a wonderful mountain house.
100 years - Café Triftalp ... almost!
1927
Year of construction of the nearly 100-year-old Café Triftalp. The builder was Elias Andenmatten, whose family managed the Café Triftalp until the end of the 1950s.
1963
Change of ownership - after the guesthouse remained closed for several years, the café was reopened by Gertrud and Theophil Zurbriggen.
At that time, transport was only possible by mule and "Tschifra" (carrying basket). A few years later, the helicopter was used.
1979
Road construction "Saas-Grund - Triftalp" From now on, goods could be transported by car.
2003
After 40 years of service at Café Triftalp, Gertrud Zurbriggen retires.
2004
For one summer, Liliane and Rolf Andenmatten manage the café.
2005
The guesthouse is managed by siblings Arian and Katja Bumann.
2011
After 9 years of leasing the mountain restaurant Kreuzboden, Xaver Bumann acquires the Café Triftalp and renovates it extensively.
2012
In the summer of 2012, the café shines in new splendor and is reopened as a year-round operation.
2013
Transition to Triftalphütte with rustic alpine cuisine and "service at the buffet."
2020
From summer 2020, the operation is run by Annelore and Alex Burgener
