The property named 'Zum Kaffeebaum' was built in 1903 as a residential house with a grocery store. Originally a freestanding building, it has become the initial building of the urban alley due to the merging with the younger neighboring buildings. Decorative elements of late Gothic historicism characterize this property.
The property consists of basement rooms with archive rooms, heating and laundry room, as well as drying room and cellar compartments. At the end of the corridor is the separate toilet for the commercial premises.
On the ground floor are the commercial premises, which are rented by the perfumery Marionnaud.
On the first floor is the general terrace as an outdoor area as well as a 4-room apartment.
On the second floor is another 4-room apartment.
The apartments were renovated in 2017. The water pipes from the basement to the attic were also replaced. The floors and walls were gently renovated and preserved where possible.
The attic offers potential for expansion. The necessary lines were already laid during the last renovation. Currently, there are two attic compartments, a mansard room, and the remaining attic space available.
The property is classified as a K-object by the cantonal monument preservation as worthy of protection.
