General information about Binn
The Binntal, a southern side valley of the Rhone Valley in the district of Goms, is known as a paradise for minerals and hiking and has been under nature protection since 1964. Several hamlets in Binn are classified as a national heritage site. In the main town of Binn, there is the arch bridge from 1564 located next to the Antonius Chapel. In the hamlet of Wilere stands the parish church of St. Michael, built in 1560.
The municipality of Binn is located at an altitude of 1,400 m above sea level and has 140 inhabitants.
As part of the Landscape Park Binntal, the municipality attracts many guests in summer. During the tourist season, eight hospitality businesses invite you to stay, including the Swiss Historic Hotel Ofenhorn, built in 1886 and now owned by the Pro Binntal cooperative. Binn offers a grocery store, two mineral shops, a grinding shop, a carving shop, and a carpentry shop. Four full-time farmers operate dairy farming, and in summer several alpine pastures are grazed with cows and sheep.
