Located in the middle of the village, close to public transport and yet very quiet, this factory converted into lofts with six residential units can be found.
The building was constructed in 1867 by the Engelburg Embroidery Joint Stock Company. It is one of the oldest witnesses of an important era for the village. The heavy embroidery machines required a solid construction, which can still be seen today in the massive foundations and strong wooden supports and beams.
After the decline of embroidery, the building was mainly used as a warehouse until the entire factory was converted into six loft apartments in 2007.
The still original wooden skeleton construction, which is very well preserved in its structure, adds additional charm. The numerous large window areas bring sunshine and plenty of light into the room at any time of day, and the carefully selected materials emphasize the extravagance of this property.
The entire building envelope has undergone a comprehensive renovation and redesign. Since 2015, heat generation is provided by the Gaiserwald heat network, making it independent of gas and oil prices and also ecological. Solar collectors on the roof serve for hot water preparation and thus also contribute to environmental protection and provide a cost contribution.
Whether living with rooms or in the open style of a loft apartment is up to you. Currently, there are four spacious bedrooms available. Another room can be realized without much effort. The apartment is very exclusive and stylishly furnished and even allows a view of the Säntis.
A garden area of 60 m² belongs to the apartment, as well as a cellar compartment.
Further green areas, as well as the barbecue area and a workshop in the basement, are established for shared use.
