The location
The Southeast district borders to the west on the St. Gallen old town, to the east on the St. Fiden district, to the south on St. Georgen and the Three Weieren, and to the north on the Northeast district (St. Jakob). Two important traffic arteries run through the district, the Rorschacherstrasse towards Mörschwil, Goldach, and Rorschach, and the Speicherstrasse towards Speicher and Trogen in Appenzell Ausserrhoden. Public transport connects the district with bus lines 7, 8, and 11, trolleybus lines 1 and 2, the diameter line Appenzell – St. Gallen – Trogen of the Appenzell railways, and various postbus services on Rorschacherstrasse.
