Are you interested in living with us? We are very happy about that!
Currently (Spring 2025) we have several free rooms in the house (11sqm, 13sqm, 14sqm, 20sqm, 30sqm), the Hüüsli (a free-standing but permanently built small Hüüsli/cottage) and possibly a caravan space will be free again by summer – this is a legal parking space for a "mobile small building".
The rent starts at Fr. 400 for the small rooms, and goes up to about Fr. 550 for the larger ones, or almost 700 for the largest (30sqm). In addition, there is a "head rent", which includes not only the usual ancillary and operating costs but also everything else, so not just heating, electricity, and internet, but also from printer paper to toilet paper, to cleaning and washing agents – simply all household costs besides your own food.
If you are interested, please read the text below and contact us via the contact form with a few words about yourself and why this way of life appeals to you.
Thank you very much and see you then!
Are you up for a life in a community in the green with plenty of (design) space, forests and meadows, workshops, and much more?
We are about ~20 people from big to small and live partly in rooms in the house, partly in wagons and yurts around the house. We are distributed across three kitchens/living rooms and three bathrooms and have an event/music room that serves as an additional living room, especially in winter. In addition, there are: wood, bike, and metal workshops (even a forge), a large laundry room, some stables and sheds, greenhouses, and other outbuildings, all waiting for your love and affection.
There are some animals and a large garden, fields, and forest, which you can enjoy – if you still have time and energy after all the other work that constantly arises here: Many are assigned to tasks, others are done collectively, such as firewood for our wood central heating, garden and forest maintenance, general renovation and beautification work, and much more. Many of us work flexibly and not full-time: It would certainly be helpful for you not to be out of the house every day from 7 am to 8 pm...
We wish for people who want and can get involved and shape things, who actively but sensitively engage in the events and are not afraid to get their hands dirty or to speak (and receive!) honest, clear but heartfelt words in communal living. Our workshops and gardens also welcome fresh wind and people who take care of them and use, love, and maintain machines, tools, space, and stuff.
Last but not least, we would like to point out that we are currently undergoing a major transformation: The many people who are currently leaving or have left us are not doing so "just like that", but there are currently some issues regarding communal living. We have addressed this with the help of Gesewo in the context of supervision, but we want to point out that this is an ongoing process in which you will of course also be involved. We hope that with many new people, the "old ties" will also gradually fall away and you have the opportunity to reshape many things here especially right now.
If you are interested in experiencing how we shape our living space to perhaps become part of it, then please write to us via the contact form. We look forward to a few words about you, what you do, what drives you, and why you think that living with us is just right for you!
See you then!
WG Grienen.
