We are planning to travel for a few months in February 2026 and would like to sublet our apartment. The start and end date can be discussed and is not set in stone. However, preferably, we would like a sublet for 2-4 months.
The apartment:
About 5-6 years ago, the apartment was renovated and is therefore very modern. Due to the temporary sublet, we would like to offer it furnished. It is located in the attic of an older house and has beautifully preserved wooden beams. There is one bedroom with a 1.8m wide and cozy bed, a spacious bathroom, a shared living and dining area, and a gallery with two "workspaces". The sofa in the living room can also be pulled out and could, for example, accommodate two children. There is no TV, but there is a good stereo system where music can be played through various services. The two workspaces each have a desk, and one contains a monitor to which, for example, a notebook can be connected. We also have Wi-Fi that can of course be used. We would leave the kitchen fully equipped so that cooking is not an issue. The cabinets and dressers in the bedroom, etc., would be emptied after consultation so that you can fully furnish yourself. Additionally, there is a cellar and a "shed" that has space for, for example, bikes or ski equipment. The washing machine and dryer are used very uncomplicatedly with two other parties without a washing plan or anything like that. Furthermore, the apartment has a huge balcony (which will be furnished even more) with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountain landscape. In the canton of Uri, it can be a bit windy at times, but on other days, the balcony invites you to linger. We would give the plants to our parents after consultation so that you have no work with them.
The location:
The apartment is exactly in the middle between the village and the train station of Altdorf. The train station can be reached in about 10 minutes, from where you can quickly get to, for example, Lucerne or Zug. Furthermore, there are several ski areas in the vicinity, such as Andermatt Sedrun, which can be easily reached by car or public transport. The village offers various shopping options and can be reached in a few minutes. The nearest Migros is about 5 minutes away, a library about 3 minutes, a cinema about 4 minutes, etc. In addition to various farm shops, there is a small market in Altdorf every Saturday morning where fresh vegetables, etc., can be bought directly from a few farmers from Uri. Altdorf is not very large, so everything can be easily reached on foot.
The sublet:
We would like to see the person/people to whom we are handing over our apartment live at least once. Therefore, expats, etc., are rather excluded. When writing to us, we would also appreciate one or two sentences about you. Things like "still available?" and nothing more will be ignored. The price is based on the rent we pay and the additional costs combined. The price as well as the rental period can be discussed.
