Meisterschwanden-Culturally
On the website, the municipality writes:
"Culturally - Independent
Clubs hold a community together, are the social breeding ground for connectedness, spread fun, knowledge, and a certain sporting challenge. Especially for newcomers, they enable rapid integration.
There are about 50 clubs. The offer is correspondingly diverse. The traditional gymnastics and football club certainly belongs to this. Also the sailing and rowing clubs shaped by the lake, the sport fishing team, and the diving group as well as the music society, the parents' association, the nursing home association, and the costume group. Just to name a few.
Moreover, a long-standing partnership with the French municipality of Saint Claude de Diray is maintained.
A beautiful tradition is the Meitlisonntag. This custom goes back to the brave intervention of the Seetaler women in the 2nd Villmerger War of 1712. In gratitude, the Bernese army leader Colonel Tscharner granted the valiant fighters "three own days" on which they may rule over the "Mannevolch". The Meitlizyt was included in the UNESCO list of "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Switzerland" in 2011.
The castles, palaces, and ruins still testify to the lively Middle Ages. There is the intoxicating high castle Lenzburg with changing exhibitions, the ornate water castle Hallwyl, the sturdy Wildegg, the romantic castle Heidegg, or the mystically appealing ruin Nünegg; they are just waiting to be discovered.
Meisterschwanden - living culture and history"
Meisterschwanden - On the sunny side of Lake Hallwil
The municipality writes on its website:
"Sunny-Quiet-Attractive
Even from a distance, Meisterschwanden reminds of holidays and relaxation. Nestled in one of the most beautiful local recreation areas in the canton of Aargau, surrounded by Lake Hallwil and idyllic hills, an impressive panorama opens up in Meisterschwanden into the Central Swiss Alps with Rigi, Pilatus, and Titlis.
The municipality offers a high quality of life, landscape, culture, and diversity in a manageable space.
The two village centers Meisterschwanden and Tennwil with their individual charm are shaped by Lake Hallwil and the Lindenberg, but also by the picture-book landscape of the entire Seetal. Medieval small towns, hiking trails, and beach baths, romantic countryside, castles, and palaces.
The workers' beach bath Tennwil and the beach bath Seerose are so to speak the hub of the gently developed tourist area. The shipping company Hallwilersee, founded in 1888, connects the villages of the Seetal by water and gives a typical holiday atmosphere.
The excellent and creative gastronomy is rounded off by a wide range of accommodation options - from camping in the open air to a four-star hotel with seminar rooms and wellness oases.
Living customs
Meisterschwanden places great importance on the tradition of Meitlisonntag. The festivities are based on a historical event. The custom is said to go back to the successful intervention of the Seetaler women in the 2nd Villmerger War of 1712 according to oral tradition. With their appearance, they helped the Reformed Bernese to victory. In gratitude for their help and brave commitment, the Bernese army leader Colonel Tscharner granted the valiant fighters "three own days" on which they may rule over the "Mannevolch".
The days of female rule are Meitli-Thursday, Meitli-Saturday, and Meitli-Sunday. They are celebrated annually around the second Sunday in January."

Kindergarten-Schools
At the school, about 200 children are taught in 10 departments. In addition to three kindergarten and six primary school classes, five secondary and real school classes of the Oberes Seetal district school are housed in the Eggen school building. Another 6 real classes are in Sarmenstorf. The district school is in the neighboring village of Fahrwangen.
In the Oberes Seetal KSOS district school, the levels of real, secondary, and district school are offered for students from the municipalities of Meisterschwanden, Sarmenstorf, Fahrwangen, and Bettwil.
With the exception of the two kindergarten departments in the Hinterdorf kindergarten, all children attend classes in the attractively located and modernly designed and equipped school facility Eggen.
In primary school, children with special needs have been integrated and taught since summer 2009, and in secondary school since summer 2010. The information "Integrative Education at Schools in the Upper Seetal" shows what support and assistance integrative education can provide and what expectations the Integrative School IS does not meet.
Regular, cross-class activities maintain contact between the big and small ones.
