Residence:
The tenant has been residing in the canton of Basel-Stadt for at least two years at the start of the lease.
Apartment occupancy:
The apartment may have at most one room more than all persons living in the shared household. Half rooms are rounded down. A household with at least three persons can apply for a 4.5-room apartment, for example.
Income limit:
The total annual income, before deductions and according to the legally valid tax assessment of all persons registered in the household, must not exceed four times the gross annual market rent including ancillary costs.
Asset limit:
The assets of a person registered in the household, according to the legally valid tax assessment of the previous year, must not exceed 30,000 Swiss francs. For two or more persons, the asset limit is 50,000 Swiss francs.

CHF 235.— Advance payment ancillary costs
CHF 1,627.— Gross rent Rental Contract Plus
The 20% discount applies for one year and can be extended as long as the conditions for the rental contract plus continue to be met.
