Brusino Arsizio is a Swiss municipality in the Canton of Ticino, famous for its predominantly residential and tourist connotation.
The origins of the village are uncertain: the first settlements date back very likely to Roman times, a hypothesis partially confirmed by the discovery, in 1970, of some archaeological finds in a desecrated tomb. For many years, Brusino was a land of artists, providing for centuries men for the construction and design of the most beautiful monuments in Europe. From the mid-19th century, works began that modernized the municipality. In 1875, the road connecting to Riva San Vitale was built, and in 1906 the road section leading to Porto Ceresio was completed. In 1910, the municipality had drinking water, while in 1914 electricity. Since the post-war period, with the advent of mass tourism, the hotel industry has seen considerable development.
