Idyllic, quiet, and still central
quickly in the city, close to nature
Eiken is easily accessible by car and public transport. The connection to the A3 motorway is only a 3-minute drive away. Eiken is located between Basel (about 25 minutes by car) and Zurich (about 45 minutes by car). The train station can be reached on foot in 7 minutes. The S-trains to Basel (about 30 minutes) and Zurich (about 1 hour) run twice an hour daily.
Primary school and kindergarten are nearby, and the village center can be reached on foot in a few minutes. Landi and Volg sell groceries and everyday products for daily needs. A post office and pharmacy can also be found in the village center. Eiken has a vibrant club culture: Whether football club or theater group - the offerings are diverse. Those who enjoy hearty Swiss cuisine will find exactly that at the Gasthof Rössli or the Restaurant Sonne: cordon bleus, sausage cheese salad, or a crispy Buure rösti.
Eiken belongs to the Fricktal and is an ideal starting point for excursions into nature: The Grossrüti, the nearby forest, invites you to take a walk. Over the Grossrüti, you can reach, for example, the Eiker mountain. Anyone who takes the short hike to this viewpoint will not be disappointed: The panorama overlooking the Black Forest is wonderful. Hikes to the Rhine are also worthwhile: The pretty old town of Bad Säckingen (Germany) is only a few kilometers from Eiken and is a popular destination in the region.
