Bitsch (692 m above sea level at the Massabrücke) is considered a family- and tax-friendly valley and mountain village. The population has doubled in the last 40 years. The scattered settlement in the mountain village mainly consists of single-family and two-family houses. The hamlets of Ebnet, Bitschschlüecht, and Baletscha were primarily holiday home zones in the past, but today these buildings are almost exclusively inhabited year-round by locals. From Bitsch, you can reach the well-known ski areas of Riederalp, Bettmeralp, Fiescheralp (Aletscharena), and Belalp in just a few minutes. In summer, Bitsch is a starting point for interesting hikes, but sports enthusiasts also get their money's worth with tennis, squash, badminton, Vita course, swimming, inline skating, thermal baths, fitness centers, etc. in the immediate vicinity.
