In the idyllic and well-known mountain village of Albinen, in the Valais, we are selling a converted Walliser barn, which stands on mouse stones, with a view directly into the Rhone Valley.
On the ground floor there is a dining area, the kitchen, and a small bathroom with shower and toilet.
On the upper floor, there is a large living room and in the attic, a gallery that can be reached via a foldable ladder, where the bedroom is located.
The two built-in Swedish stoves provide cozy warmth. There is a hot water boiler and electric radiators, and the building can also be heated electrically via a remote control.
The year of construction of the barn is about 400 years ago, around 1623, and the tax documents also contain a construction year of 1950... probably the barn was moved or partially renovated at that time.
The old agricultural building is considered a valuable witness of the traditional Valais construction culture. Typical for the Walliser barns are the stilts with the round stone slabs, which create a cavity between the substructure and the actual storage space, preventing the entry of mice and pests.
